Counselling & Psychotherapy

Zoe Hassid

Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist

MA, Adv. Dip, MBACP, UKCP

I am a qualified, BACP registered and UKCP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I am experienced in working with clients from a range of backgrounds on a wide range of issues.

Counselling and psychotherapy are "talking therapies". They offer a safe, confidential environment in which you can discuss your problems, explore any difficult thoughts and feelings you're having and talk and be heard in a way that can facilitate change.

Counselling and psychotherapy work broadly in the same way. Counselling may focus on working through a particular problem, while psychotherapy may focus more on exploring deeper underlying issues.

Why Come?

People come to counselling and psychotherapy for many different reasons. You may be feeling overwhelmed by a current situation in a relationship or at work. You may be struggling with persistent and unwanted thoughts, feelings or behaviours. You may be haunted by past experiences that overshadow your present and future. Or you may want more joy and fulfilment out of life and wonder what gets in the way.

I work with clients on these and many other issues, including:

  • Abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Addiction
  • Bereavement
  • Chronic Illness
  • Depression
  • Disordered Eating
  • Family Issues
  • Relationship Issues
  • Trauma

What’s Integrative Therapy?

Integrative therapy and counselling involve a number of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, humanistic, body and contemporary relational psychotherapy. I integrate a combination of these different approaches to best work in relationship with you as a unique individual.

Integrative therapy facilitates a process of personal integration - that is, becoming aware of and coming to terms with different parts of our selves and our experience so we can feel more whole in both mind and body. This can be an empowering process (and at times an uncomfortable one) that brings freedom from limiting thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and freedom to make choices.

What Do You Offer?

I offer a confidential, collaborative space, where you can bring whatever is troubling you. Together we can explore what’s going on, at a pace that’s right for you. Whoever you are and whatever has happened in your life, I offer empathic support and challenge, without judgement. I don’t offer advice; I will champion your autonomy and help you develop your capacity to make choices.

You may want short-term support through a crisis or you may wish to address deeper issues that are getting in your way in the longer term. I offer both short-term and open-ended work. Therapy would usually involve you coming to see me weekly for 50 minutes.

What Does It Cost?

My fee is £65 per 50 minute session. I have some concessionary spaces, including for students.
