The Practice


The practice manager ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and is responsible for overall organisation and general administration. If you have any comments or suggestions about the service, please let the manager know.


Our receptionists are fully trained to a high standard which enables them to do a difficult job well. They are trained to ask questions to determine the urgency of your enquiry so that you are given the correct priority.

Our receptionists will make every effort to help you but please, do remember, that there are some circumstances outside of their control.

Our team of receptionists will be able to:

  • Help you make routine and emergency appointments with the doctors and the nurse or any other service available at our ptractice.
  • Book appointments for Physiotherapy.
  • Relay telephone messages to doctors.
  • Organise repeat prescriptions within 48 hours.
  • Help with numerous and varied general enquiries.
  • Give selected test results.

A high level of confidentiality regarding patients' details and records is maintained by all staff. If they wish, patients can speak confidentially to a receptionist in a private room adjacent to the reception desk.

Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant

The Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant are available by appointment. Their numerous tasks include:

  • New patient health screening
  • Minor injuries and removal of stitches
  • Infant/adult immunisations
  • Travel Vaccination and advice
  • Cervical smears and family planning advice
  • Ear syringing and advice
  • Asthma/diabetes monitoring
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Stop smoking advice
  • Healthier lifestyle advice and education

Appointments System

• Routine Appointments

The practice operates an appointments system for both doctors and nurses. Appointments may be made by telephoning 020 8340 2877 or by calling in at the surgery. Routine appointments are for 15 minutes. It would be appreciated if you came with one problem at a time and not a "list" of problems, as this will cause delays for everyone. Sometimes medical problems take longer than expected to resolve, therefore we would appreciate your patience and understanding if the doctor is running late.

Please inform the surgery as soon as possible if you cannot keep an appointment, so that other patients may benefit from the space available.

• Emergency Appointments

Should you need to be seen as an emergency, you should telephone the Surgery at 08.00 hrs and you will be allocated an emergency appointment for the morning clinic. You must telephone the surgery at 14.30 hrs, to be allocated an emergency appointment for the evening clinic.

These slots are reserved for ACUTE problems, not routine matters and the Doctor will deal with the immediate problem only. If all the emergency appointments have been taken, you will be contacted by a Doctor to discuss the problem.

Emergency appointments are to be used as such and NOT for repeat prescriptions or to discuss results.

For any MAJOR emergency please call an ambulance (999).

Please Note: We do not operate a walk-in service.

Home Visits

Home visits are for patients who are too ill to attend the surgery or are housebound and will occur only at the doctor's discretion. Requests are to be received before 10.00am.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions requests should be submitted as follows:

1. In person: by bringing the computer printed list attached to your prescription, having selected the items you need. Your prescription will be ready to be collected within 48 hours.

2. Via post: by sending the computer printed list attached to the original prescription, indicating the items you need. Please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.

3. Via a nominated chemist: by choosing a chemist to request a repeat prescription on your behalf, when it becomes due. The chemist will send a request to our surgery and we shall issue the prescription electronically. The chemist will dispense the medications directly to you. Please allow 48 hours before collection.

Disabled Patients Access

Wheelchair access to the building is via a ramp at the front entrance.

Patient services for the disabled are provided at ground floor level.

A disabled patients' WC is situated by the front entrance.
