Travel Vaccinations

travel vaccination

We offer wide and comprehensive services to both our patients and anyone who needs travel advice. We offer vaccinations, travel packs and any certificates needed for your foreign travel.

Please make an appointment at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate immunisation cover. We hold a full stock of vaccines at the surgery. Charges are available at reception.

Useful Advice Prior To Travelling Abroad

  1. Please remember that if you suffer from any medical conditions or take long-term medication, you should discuss your particular needs with either the doctor or the travel nurse at least 4 weeks before you travel.
  2. In some countries you need anti-malarial protection even if you are a native of the country to which you are travelling.
If you have lived abroad for a long time, you do not have the same immunity against malaria as a native person actually living in that particular country.
  3. Make sure that you take an adequate supply of your regular medications.
  4. During the flight, eat a light meal and avoid alcohol: it is easy to become dehydrated, particularly during a long haul flight. Adequate hydration will help with jet lag.
